Dress Code
BOYS:
Navy or khaki pants and shorts with button and zippered fronts (no cargo pants/no cargo shorts). Solid white, solid black, kelly green, or yellow knit shirts with collar or cotton/cotton blend button front shirts with long or short sleeves—school logos are optional.
Beards must be kept neat. Medical issues are to be addressed with the Office of Child Welfare and Attendance. Hoodies are only Plainview spirit, solid black, or solid white. No logos.
GIRLS:
Navy or khaki pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, Capri pants or jumpers with side or zippered fronts (no cargo pants, no cargo shorts). Solid white, solid black, kelly green, or yellow knit shirts with collar or cotton/cotton blend button front shirts with long or short sleeves—school logos are optional. Hoodies are only Plainview spirit, solid black, or solid white. No logos.
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES FOR BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS:
**PHS T-shirts sold through our school office may be worn in place of uniform shirts.**
If undershirts are worn they must be solid white, black, or gray.
Shirts must be long enough to remain neatly tucked in at all times.
Belts are optional. If students choose to wear a belt, it must be buckled at all times; no part of the belt may be left hanging at any time.
Student’s hair must be groomed in such a manner that it will not draw undue attention.
Mohawks and hair carving/art are unacceptable. Feathers are not allowed to be worn in the hair except for cultural purposes with approval from the principal.
Students may wear a jacket when weather dictates. Trench coats, dusters, or knee length jackets are not allowed. Sweatshirts/pullovers may be worn and shall be solid white, solid black or a designated school color. Official Plainview hoodies/pullovers are allowed as long as they are professionally made. Uniform shirts must be worn under pullovers. Sweatshirts/pullovers of any kind may not be worn in any way that creates a distraction.
Students are prohibited from wearing coats in the classroom. A light sweater or jacket is acceptable. Hats and hoods are prohibited in the building.
Uniform length: skirts, jumpers, and shorts (boys and girls) must be no shorter than four inches above the knee as measured from the back crease of the knee.
Shoes must be worn at all times. No rubber or foam swim footwear, flip-flops, beach or pool sandals, crocs or house shoes will be allowed.
Tearing, ripping, or cutting of hems, cuffs, sleeves, or body of any of the coordinates is prohibited. NO OVERSIZING! The uniform must be in the correct size to avoid any sagging.
School uniforms are not required at school-sponsored events.
However, school uniform shirts must be worn on all school field trips. Jeans are allowed on field trips.
Out of Uniform/Jean Days:
On days where students are out of uniform, RPSB dress code must still be followed. Jeans/pants or other clothing shall not have holes allowing skin to show. Leggings/tights are only to be worn with a dress, skirt, jumper, etc. that meets the district length requirement (no shorter than four inches above the knee as measured from the back crease of the knee). Inappropriate logos/wording/pictures are not allowed on any clothing/jackets.
